Tigers catcher Alex Avila has been put on the 15-day disabled list with a left knee issue, and the team said left-hander David Price has a mild strain of his right hamstring. Detroit announced Avila's move to the DL on Saturday and recalled catcher Bryan Holaday from Triple-A Toledo. The Tigers described Avila's injury as a ''loose body'' - he said ''it's like a piece of bone or something like that.'' Price left Friday night's game after stepping on a bat that the plate umpire had tossed aside to get it out of the way before a potential play at home.
