The Memphis Grizzlies didn't need an official announcement to understand that Stephen Curry was the NBA's Most Valuable Player. After a textbook performance from Curry in Game 1, he'll look to spark the Golden State Warriors to a commanding lead in the Western Conference semifinals Tuesday night against the short-handed Grizzlies, who are likely to again be without Mike Conley. Curry averaged 23.8 points and set the NBA record for 3-pointers in a season with 286 to easily take the league's top individual honor, garnering 100 of 130 first-place votes to beat out Houston's James Harden and Cleveland's LeBron James and become the first Warrior to win since Wilt Chamberlain in 1960. The league announced the results a day after his performance Sunday, when Curry helped lead Golden State past Memphis 101-86.
