NFLPA to use noted labor lawyer Kessler in appeal (Yahoo Sports)

National Football League Players Association attorney Jeffrey L. Kessler walks out of federal court after presenting oral arguments before a three-judge panel of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, in St. Louis. The hearing addressed a claim by the NFLPA that the league colluded to set a secret salary cap in 2010 and follows a recent ruling by a federal judge rejecting the union's attempt to reopen a lawsuit that guided league labor matters from 1993 until the new collective bargaining agreement in 2011. Noted labor attorney Jeffrey Kessler will aid in the players' union planned appeal of Tom Brady's suspension. The New England Patriots quarterback was suspended by the NFL for the first four games of the 2015 season for his role in the deflating of footballs. He was instrumental in getting NFL free agency established and had a key role in helping end the league's lockout of the players in 2011. Along with Brady's suspension, the NFL fined the Patriots $1 million Monday and stripped them of a 2016 first-round draft choice and a 2017 fourth-rounder.
